Mr. Jones was born on Nov. 12, 1935 in McKinney, Texas, and was a son of Cotner and Maudie Jones. He worked at Anderson Clayton Corp.'s cotton warehouse and retired after 39 years. He enjoyed fishing, frog gigging and the outdoors. He also enjoyed his dog, birds and all animals.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret "Peggy"; two daughters, Bobbi Sue Pinegar, of Florence and Debra I. McRorey, of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, Robert C. Jones, of Pahrump, Nevada, and James H. Jones, of Coolidge; six grandchildren (Joe Jr, Paul, Sean, Johnny, Erica and Harley); and 12 great-grandchildren (Aron, Shane, Kara, Nathan, Ariel, Skylar, Jolene,Louie, Allen, William, Abigail and Noah).
He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Duane Jones.
