Lloyd A. Jenkins, 83, of Trimble, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at his residence.

He was a retired construction engineer for the State of Tennessee, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, member of Trimble United Methodist Church for 52 year where he served on the Administrative Board, served as Sunday school superintendent, taught the Spares and Pairs Sunday school class and a member of American Legion Post No. 92.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Trimble United Methodist Church with the Rev. Buck Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Dyer. Johnson-Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sue Jenkins of Trimble; a son, Dr. David A. Jenkins of Nashville; two brothers, Ray Jenkins of Trimble and Melton Jenkins of Farmington, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mattie Bradford Jenkins; four sisters; and four brothers.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Maldonado, Dennis Maldonado, David Norsworthy, Mark Richardson, Michael Richardson and Steve Knott. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Spares & Pairs Sunday school class of Trimble United Methodist Church, Chris Young, Randy Coble, Jeff Knott, John Troutt and Danny Clanton.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to Trimble United Methodist Church Building Fund, 309 East Mitchell St., Trimble, TN 38259.
