Kenneth W. Akers, age 63, of Poteet, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009, near Tilden, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Mary Akers of Poteet; sons, Kenneth "Wayne" Akers, Jr. and wife Linda of Timberville, Virginia, Joseph H. Akers and wife Julie of Laredo and daughter, Laura Jacobs and husband Kent of Ramstein, Germany. He is also survived by his sister and brother, Peggy Healer and husband Warren of Somerset and Larry C. Akers of Poteet, as well as grandchildren, Austin Henry Akers and Joshua Keegan Jacobs. He is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Melba Akers and sister-in-law, Linda Akers. Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 West Oaklawn Road, Pleasanton from 2:00PM - 9:00PM on Monday, November 9, 2009. A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Hurley Funeral Home (Pleasanton). Interment will be at the Shiloh Cemetery between Poteet and Leming, Texas.
