Riley C. Meadows was the first born issue of Riley C. Meadows (Sr.) and his first wife.

Riley was one of eleven children born to Isham/Isom Meadows and his wife, Sarah "Sally" E. Ulbandine/Ulbandeen. Riley married twice; both wives being Catharine. Riley and his first wife had three known sons; Riley C., Thomas S. and James S. Riley's first wife passed away during or right after birth of son James. Riley married secondly to to Catharine Smith on March 11, 1830 in Montgomery County, Indiana. Riley's second marriage produced ten children; all of whom were born in Indiana. Riley and Catharine farmed in Montgomery and Jasper County, Indiana. Riley passed away in 1854. Catharine in her later years, went to live with her son Robert D. in Jackson County, Kansas.
