EDITH A. ABBOTT
Mrs. Edith A. Abbott, 80, died Tuesday at her home on Ash St., Middleport.
Mrs. Abbott was born April 13, 1896 in Cheshire, a daughter of the late George and Minnie Ripley Herrmann.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Martin and Lester, a brother and a sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Virginia) Wears, Pomeroy, and Mrs. Harold (Gertrude Trudie) Swartz, Middleport; two sons, Larry of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Harold of Coolville; two sisters, Mrs. Amy Roush of Pendleton, Oregon, and Mrs. George (Margaret) Stark of Phoeniz, Ariz.; two brothers, Roy Herrmann of Cheshire and Horace Herrmann of Reynoldsburg; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Martin (Midgie) Abbott, Middleport; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Abbott was a member of the Silver Memorial Free Will Baptist Church at Kanauga where services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday with The Rev. Andrew Parsons and the Rev. Noel Herrmann officiating. Burial will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery at Cheshire.
Friends may call at the Rawlings-Coats Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and until noon on Friday when the body will be taken to the church.
