William Warner Emerson is the son of Noble and Mary (Kesecker) Emerson. William and Mary were married August 15, 1830, in Berkely County, Virginia. Between 1842 and 1847 they moved their family to Ohio. William married Hester Angeline "Nettie" Wenrick, the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Coup) Wenrick on April 13, 1880 in Seneca County, Ohio. William and Hester have three children:

Ralph Waldo EMERSON (1880–1969)
Everett Grant EMERSON (1885–1944)
Jennie B EMERSON Sturgeon Hemminger (1887–1949}
