Robert Clay Cave, 74, of Melrose, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville. He was a retired U.S. Air Force chief master sergeant and a retired department manager from the VA Medical Center. He began his service in the Army in 1945, and completed his military service to his country in the Air Force in 1975 serving during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. A native of Laureville, Ohio, he moved to Melrose 15 years ago from Chillicothe, Ohio, and was of the Protestant denomination. Survivors include his wife, Louise Riley Cave; daughter, Vicki Mann, Richmond, Va.; grandchildren Robert Mann, USS Kitty Hawk, Melinda Melady, Richmond, Va.; great-granddaughter, Allie Kate Melady and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, with full military honors by the U.S. Air Force. The family will receive friends at Moring Funeral Home from 5-7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Moting Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
