Our beloved father, James Kenneth Egan, passed away March 19 at the age of 90.

He was born in Lemore, England on October 16, 1919, to James and Ethel Egan. They moved to the United States when he was six years old. He grew up in Altoona, Pennsylvania, where he met our mother, Teresa Adams, at a picnic in 1936. It was love at first sight. They married on Valentine's Day 1938. Together, they raised six daughters.

During World War II he proudly served our country as a radarman aboard the USS Topeka. In 1955, our family moved to Phoenix. Dad retired from the City of Phoenix in 1965.

He is preceded in death by his brother, John.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; six daughters, Carol, Susan, Mary Jane, Elaine, Nancy and Kay; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

We wish to thank all the people at Sunrise Hospice, especially Bonnie and Patricia, and for the love and care he received from Krystyna and Bertha at Lake View Retirement Villa. We love you and will miss you Dad.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2010, 10:00-11:00 A.M. , followed by the service at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road. Burial will be held at National Memorial Cemetery of AZ immediately following.
