Services for George Frank Castleberry, a prominent Eastland businessman, were held at First Methodist Church. Many local businesses and the courthouse were closed during the services. he came to Texas with his parents in 1896 and attended Eastland High School He engaged in farming and ranching at intervals and for many years, he owned and operated a feed store in Eastland. He finished the unexpired term of his brother, J.E. Castleberry, as county commissioners in 1953, after Ed's death. A member of the First Methodist church, he had served as a steward for many years.
Survived by his wife; two sons - Winston C. Castleberry, Frank Pettit Castleberry; three sisters - Viola St. John, Althea Elliott, Mrs. Lula Castleberry; five grandchildren.
