The deceased was born in Wurtsboro March 11, 1855, and was the son of Matthew LaFever and Annie Hornbeck LaFever.
Mr. LaFever had for the past 30 years or more drive the mail and [word missing] stage between the Mamakating station and Wurtsboro post office and attained a widespread acquaintance and was a familiar in Wurtsboro for so many years tht he will be missed by all of his many friends. He drove the mail until last winter, when illness caused him to relinquish the duties he had pursued for nearly a lifetime.
He is survived by his widow, Frances LaFever, and a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Newkirk, of Wurtsboro. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at his late home, Rev. Josiah Crane conducting the services. Interment was in the family lot in Sylvan Cemetery.
