LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GA — George W. Adams Jr., 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at his residence.
He was a member of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church and he was also an ordained deacon in the PCA. George was a substitute teacher at Chattanooga Christian School and Chattanooga Valley High School for many years. He was active in the GOP where he held many offices throughout the years. He served as a Medic in the United States Air Force for eight years and was a member of American Legion 106 George, with his wife, were owners of D's Alterations. George lived a varied and exciting life evidenced by his eclectic work history.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Adams; daughter, Carolyn (Jason) Seneker, Chattanooga, TN; granddaughter, Elizabeth Seneker; sister, Debbie Joyner, Largo, FL; brother, Richard Adams, Kalamazoo, MI; stepmother, JoAnn Adams, Pensacola, FL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Joseph Novenson and the Rev. James Landrum officiating.
Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. Monday at the church.
Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway, Fort Oglethorpe, GA.
