Born on June 10, 1937 in Augusta, he was the son of the late Francis David and Frances May Jones Kirk. He married Susan Phyllis Wilson Kirk on January 8, 1972 and his dear wife survives his passing. He was a minister for 42 years, evangelizing throughout Kentucky and Ohio. Most recently, he served the United Christian Fellowship Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a musician, playing the organ, piano, guitar and harmonica and sharing his music ministry wherever he went.
In addition to his wife of 31 years, Susan, he leaves five children: Ray Morgan of Paris, Curtis Lynn of Williamsburg, Kenny Wright of Logan, OH, Mark Clark of Cynthiana, and Martha Honaker of Paris; 10 grandchildren: Tracy and Kenny Morgan, Brittany Lynn, Chelsea and Dean Wright, Mindy Stout, Brandon Clark, Susan, Travis, and Joshua Honaker; and five great-grandchildren. He was the last of his family.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 3, at Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry, with Rev. Tom King, Rev. Ronnie Corbin, and Evangelist Dreama Hawkins officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Ray Morgan, Curtis Lynn, Kenny Wright, Mark Clark, Joshua Honaker, and Randy Honaker.
