Verna F. Jones, age 89, of Berry, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2003, at Harrison Memorial Hospital, in Cynthiana, Kentucky. She was the retired cafeteria manager at Northside Elementary School, in Cynthiana.

She is survived by: two granddaughters, Jackie Northcutt, of Lexington, Kentucky, and Julie Lam, of New York, New York; and five grandchildren, Grace Northcutt, Virginia Northcutt, Curtis George Northcutt, Richard Griffin Lam and Catelyn Fisher Lam. She was preceded in death by: her husband, William A. Jones, on January 26, 1977; and a son, George A. Jones, on February 9, 1986.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 20, at Woodhead Funeral Home, in Berry, officiated by Brother Larry Jones. Music was by Anna Frances Cason. Serving as casket bearers were Coolidge Cason, Sam Arnold, Bob Lenox, Teddy Reed Renaker, Chris Swainheart and Carlos McCauley. Interment was at Pythian Grove Cemetery, in Berry. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Parkinson's Association of America.
