Charles Richard Tuer – age 82 passed away Tuesday March 16, 2010 at his home. Charles was born in Liberty, November 30, 1927 the son of the late Gladstone Tuer and Myrtle Walker Tuer. Charles was active in numerous civic organizations, as a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge and the Liberty Elks Lodge, serving as chaplain and treasurer. Charles was also very committed to his church, First United Methodist of Liberty, serving on the finance committee and treasurer of the Sunday School Class. He was also very charitable to children's charities. A graduate of San Angelo Business College, Charles inherited the family bottling business and ran it till its closing; he then entered into a partnership with Charles Fisher II, to start Charles Tuer Corporation. He was also an investor, farmer, rancher, and owned numerous properties.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Marjorie Ellen Burns, Gladys Lawler and Laura Tuer as well as a brother William James Tuer. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Friday March 19, 2010 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis, Liberty, Texas from five till eight in the evening. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church of Liberty at two o'clock in the afternoon, the Rev. Jay Barnes to officiate. Burial will follow the services in Fairlawn Cemetery.
