Mrs. Idell S. Miller, 76, of Branan Lodge, Blairsville, Ga., passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 1990 in Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. Mrs. Miller was born Feb. 28, 1913 in Clay County, N.C., a daughter of the late Alfred Grayson Sampson and Ada Cora Green Sampson. She had lived in both Towns and Floyd counties, but spent most of her life in Union County. Mrs. Miller was preceeded in death by her husband, Mr. Bascomb Hedden Miller.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Joan Collins, of Marietta; Two sisters, Iva Mae Davis of Blairsville, and Faye Jones of Acworth, Ga., Two brothers, Windell Sampson of Young Harris and James Sampson of Waleska, Ga; Two grandchildren, Stanley Collins of Nashville, Tenn., and Diana Breedlove of Wichita, Kansas. A Great grandson, Terry Breedlove also of Wichita, Kansas also survives.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 16, 1990 at 11 a.m. from Old Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Rabun and the Rev. Lester Sutton officiating. Musical selections were presented by Dorothy and Ulysses Sampson, and Willie Mae Puett. The following gentlemen served as casketbearers: Wymer Sampson, Ulysses Sampson, Hoyle Bryson, O.F. Field, Jimmy Marsh and Lewis Kelley. Interment was in the Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
