Susannah Emry was the first child of Travis and Elizabeth Emry. She was born Susannah Adcock 8 Jun 1819, Randolph Co., Ind, was renamed Emry along with the other members of the family, and in 1838 moved with her parents to the new Quaker settlement which became Salem, Henry Co., Ia. Here, on 1 May 1839 she was married to Thomas Hockett.
