STAUNTON -- Virginia (Swortzel) Galloway Wade, 95, of 1208 W. Beverley St., died Tuesday evening (Jan. 2, 2001) at Augusta Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 7, 1905, at Mint Spring, a daughter of Abraham L. and Louella Jane (Miller) Swortzel.
She had been a member of Central United Methodist Church since March 27, 1921.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fenton R. Galloway, on July 5, 1963 her second husband, Clarence George Wade, on Jan. 15, 1981 three brothers, Stanley, Ardie and Warren Swortzel and three sisters, Sadie Glenn, Kathryn Ellinger and Lou Ella Meyerhoeffer. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
