Mrs. Marie L. Cooney, 71, of rural St. Louis, passed away Saturday evening, February 24, at the Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma where she had been for two days. She had been in poor health the past six months.

Mrs. Cooney was born in Paulding County, Ohio, on April 8, 1896, the daughter of Mary and Enoch Tyler. In Detroit on September 18, 1940 she was united in marriage to William Cooney, and in 1942 they moved to St. Louis, where she had since lived. Mr. Cooney preceded her in death on Sept 14, 1966.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Mary) Totten of St. Louis; one brother, James Tyler of rural St. Louis.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 27, at 1:30 p.m. from the Carter Funeral Home in St. Louis. The Rev. Kenneth Corbett of St. Louis, will officiate and internment will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis.
