Former Klamath Falls resident Howard Clifford Leonard, 71, died Thursday in a Eugene nursing home following a lengthy illness.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. in Poole-Larsen Chapel in Eugene with the Rev. Grant Fall of Salem officiating. International Order of Odd Fellow's Spencer Butte Lodge No. 9 will conduct a graveside service at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene.

Mr. Howard was born March 8, 1910, in Warrensburg, Missouri. He married M. Ione Leonard in Hemmett, Calif., on August 12, 1938.

He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star of Klamath Falls.

Until his retirement in 1975, he was an engineer for 32 years with Southern Pacific Railroad.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Barbara Fitch and Sally Kleman of Eugene, Margaret Burin and Alleen Porter of Portland, and James Leonard of Bend. Fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
