Raymond P. "Ray" Maiara, of St. Petersburg, passed away Thursday.

Born in Brooklyn, New York he came to Florida in 1993 from Staten Island, New York. He owned Utica Iron Works and Welding from 1955 until 1990 in Brooklyn.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was Catholic.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Opulski and Laura Ernyey, and three sons, Raymond P. "Paulie" Jr., Matthew and John; three sisters, Virginia Zizzo, Mauriel Sutton and Rita McCann; three brothers, Michael, Joe and Donald; three grandchildren and a companion, Carol Adams.
