Funeral services for Willard William Agar, 54, lifelong Cass City resident, were held Wednesday afternoon at Little's Funeral Home following his sudden death Sunday afternoon, Jan. 30, at his home. He had been in ill health for the past five years. Born in Cass City, Nov. 11, 1911, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Agar. He married Miss Helen Randell in Detroit, April 30, 1934, and the couple made their home in Cass City. Mr. Agar was a member of the Masonic Order, F&AM No. 317 of Cass City and a member of the Echo Chapter No. 337, Order of the Eastern Star. He had been employed with the Hunt Construction Company of Cass City for a number of years. Surviving, besides his wife, are: two daughters, Mrs. Forest (Joyce) Walpole of Ann Arbor and Mrs. Nicholas (Mary Ann) Opansenko of Bay Port; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Hartwick of Cass City and Mrs. Ernest Nicol of Marlette, and a brother, Max Agar of Cass City. Three grandchildren also survive. A brother, Robert, preceded him in death. Dr. Marion Hosteller, First Presbyterian Church pastor, and Rev. Melvin R. Vender, pastor emeritus, officiated and interment was in the family lot in Novesta Cemetery. Committal services were under the auspices of Tyler Lodge F&AM of Cass City.
