MRS. ESTHER NEWTON DIES AT ELDORADO
Mrs. Esther Newton, 88, former resident of Stonefort, died yesterday at 11 p.m. at the home of her son, George Newton, of Eldorado. She was born in Stonefort and had lived there until three years ago when she went to live with her son. She had also been bedfast for the past three years.
Surviving are three children: Mrs. Mack (Kate) Henshaw, Herrin; Mrs. Lee (Opal) Parks, Crab Orchard; and George Newton, Eldorado; and one sister Victoria Carlson of Marion.
The body has been returned to her son's residence in Eldorado where it will be in state until the funeral services Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Gospel Assembly church in Eldorado. The body will then be taken to Stonefort for burial in the Bolton Cemetery.
The Thornton funeral home will be in charge.
