Mrs. Effie McKeand, 610 W. Second St., died at 12:30 pm. today at Kings Daughters Hospital, following a long illness. She was the widow of Dr. Hugh P. McKeand. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, the Madison Current Events Club and the order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Williams, Madison, and two grandsons, Leslie McKeand Williams, and Richard Hugh Williams. Services will be at 2 pm Thursday at Gans Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon tomorrow.
