Services for Col. James Doyle Nutt, 83, of Lufkin, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Wilkins officiating. Committal services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Cemetery in Groveton.
Col. Nutt was born Feb. 10, 1909 in Fordyce, Arkansas and died Dec. 21, 1992 in a Lufkin hospital. He was a member of Whitney, Texas First Methodist Church. He was a retired Colonel from the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. Col. Nutt had lived in the Lufkin area since 1987.
Survivors: wife, Annie Lee Jones Nutt of Lufkin; daughter, grandchildren, step-daughter.
