John G. Schumm 75, Indianapolis, passed away February 28, 2010. John was a 1953 graduate of LaPorte High School, 1957 Purdue University (BSCHE) and 1959 Indiana University (MBA). He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He retired as Director of Construction Engineering in 1993 from Eli Lilly and Co. after 33 years of service. He was active for many years in several churches, including Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church (Omaha, Nebraska), Pilgrim Lutheran Church and Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He lead bible studies and held many church offices. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, mentoring high school students and playing the clarinet. He played in the Purdue concert and marching bands, the municipal band, Indianapolis Symphonic Band and the Indiana Wind Symphony. John is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jody; his children, Mark (Joan) Schumm, Madison, Wisconsin, Beth Ann (John) Thomason, Indianapolis and Dan (Serena) Schumm, Fishers, IN; five grandchildren, John, Megan, Bradley, Kelsie and Brandon and sister, Lois Jeanne (Roy) Kelly, Jackson, Michigan.
