David Dickey Quigley, aged 95, retired justice of the peace of Butler Township, died at 11:40 o'clock Saturday night in his home at Meridian. Born September 17, 1855 in Armstrong county, a son of John David Dickey Quigley. Squire Quigley was a resident of Butler Township for 38 years. He attended public schools in Armstrong County, and was graduated from the Rimersburg academy. He taught school for a number of years. A merchant in Butler at one time, Mr. Quigley owned and operated a grocery store. He was also an oil producer. Squire Quigley was justice of peace in Butler Township for over 25 years. He was a member of the Meridian United Presbyterian church, and the board of elders, and a former member and elder in the Second Presbyterian church of Butler. Surviving are two daughter, Mrs. Olive Daugherty at home and Mrs. D.H. Ms McQuistion of Meridian; two sons, Dr. J.E. Quigley of New Milford, O.; three grandchildren and five great-grand-children. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral home, with the Rev. George W. Hutten, pastor of the Meridian United Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial will be in the Butler County Memorial park.
