Anthony J. Santillo Jr., 86, of Satsuma, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at Lakewood Nursing Center in Crescent City. He was born in New Haven, Conn., and had resided in Hermit's Cove (Satsuma) for eight years. Anthony was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and was very proud to serve his country. He retired from the Orlando Sentinel as a printer after 30 years of service. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Salvatore and Francis Santillo. Survivors include his sons, David Santillo of Jacksonville, Ronald Santillo of Orlando; daughter, Donna Cowles of Satsuma; grandchildren, David Jr., Rickey, Sherry, Dawn, Michelle, Tammy, Danelle Estes, Staff Sgt. Ryan Pringle, U.S. Army, Nicole Moes, UAF; and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6 at Watts Funeral Home with Father Brian Eburn officiating. His grandson, Staff Sgt. Ryan Pringle, U.S. Army, will play taps in honor of his grandfather along with a flag presentation. Interment will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on Monday, April 8. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. Watts Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
