Mrs. John E. Reynolds, who came to the Dodson area a number of years before the town was founded, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, May 25, after an extended period of ill health. In recent years, she had lived in Wellington. The former Lessie B. Hamman, she was born at Oscar, Oklahoma, April 1, 1886, the daughter of the late W.P. and Edith Wyrick Hamman. She grew up in Oklahoma, then in 1905 Mr. Hamman, like others who saw opportunity in the lower Panhandle, brought his family to Collingsworth County. She was the last surviving member. She was married to Mr. Reynolds on September 24, 1908, and from that time on, their home was in the Dodson area.
He died June 5, 1966. Mrs. Reynolds had been a Methodist since early in life. Surviving Mrs Reynolds are a son, Wayne Reynolds of Wellington; a daughter, Mrs Eula Berry of Skellytown; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
