Sam Thomas Buchanan, who had lived in Wellington for the last two years, died Thursday, April 18, at the age of 75 years.
Born in Alabama January 17, 1871, he had lived for many years in Texas. he and Mrs. Buchanan were married September 4, 1892 in Titus County. Later they moved to Franklin County and then to Bagota, in Red River County. They came to Wellington from the latter place.
Mr. Buchanan had been a member of the Methodist Church since 1908, and was a charter member of the Prairie View Church which he helped to build.
Surviving hare his widow of Wellington, a son and two daughters, Mrs. Cordia Griggs of Wellington, Willie Buchanan of Lamesa and Mrs. Fay Cooper of Sacramento.
Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Eunice Harper and Mrs. Vernelia Bridges of Mt. Pleasant; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
