SPRINGFIELD - Francis H. McDevitt, 88, died Sunday, June 15 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1914 in Springfield, to Fred and Emily (Eisengimenger) McDevitt. He was a lifelong resident of Springfield and communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. He also served in the Army during World War II. Francis worked as a cook for many area restaurants. His wife the late, Helen (Magistri) McDevitt, died in 1986. Francis leaves his children, Mary Jolly of Springfield, William McDevitt of Indiana, Francis McDevitt of Ohio and Helen Flebotte of Ludlow; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 8:30 from Tazzini Funeral Home with a mass in Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church at 9:30. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Chicopee. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
