Clark Angell enlisted in Company A 3rd Minnesota Infantry during the Civil War (Sep 25, 1861 Fort Snelling, MN) and served the Union Cause in Tennessee and Kentucky till he was discharged -honorably- for reasons of health. (Jul 1, 1862)

Moving to Rockford, Minnesota in 1860 (See 1860 US census) along with his mother, Brother, Benjamin and sisters. He moves then to Minneapolis with family in 1866 until 1869. Then he made his home in Litchfield, MN. He was a member of the Frank Daggett GAR Post in Litchfield MN, where he served as commander and was instrumental in raising funds necessary for building the GAR Hall
He affiliated with Litchfield Minnesota's Golden Fleece Lodge #89 coming from Monticello Lodge #16 where he is likely to have received his Blue Lodge Initiations. Records do exist but must go to Monticello Lodge and the Masonic Historical Society for verification.. :-))

In Litchfield he opened a Photo Studio and was responsible for many of the fine photos on the north wall of the GAR Building. His work took him to many interesting places like Deadwood, South Dakota to photo shoot the likes of Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickock.
