Mickey Ballard passed away Thursday afternoon, July 2, 2009, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Dallas on October 27, 1938, the son of Finis V. Ballard and Jo Dean (Whitehurst) Ballard.
He married Barbara Ann Wyatt, in Sulphur Springs on April 17, 1959; she survives.
Mr. Ballard was a material manager for A. P. Green. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the National Guard.
Other survivors include two daughters, Dianna Friddle of Poteau, Oklahoma, and Laura Ballard of Sulphur Springs; three brothers, Bobby L. Ballard, Douglas A. Ballard, both of Sulphur Springs and Larry Jay Ballard of Como; three sisters, Betty Boyd, Glenna Ball and Jean McPherson, all of Sulphur Springs; three grandchildren, Brian Friddle, Leslie Friddle and Tyler Ballard; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Friddle and Isabella Friddle.
He was preceded in death by sister, Jo Katherine Matthews and his parents.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and/or the American Heart Association.
