Lebanon, Ind., April 20. – C. S. Beach, for forty-five years a resident of this county, died here this afternoon. Death resulted from a paralytic stroke. He was 84 years of age, and leaves seven children.

C. S. Beach
C. S. Beach died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at the home of his son-in-law, Nicholas Bennett. Five years ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis, and early Tuesday morning a second stroke. Mr. Beach was born in Butler county, O., March 5, 1814, and has been a resident of Boone county for 43 years, living until two years ago in the vicinity of Mechanicsburg. He was a member of the U. B. Church until that denomination ceased to exist as a church in the 'Burg, since which time he has affiliated with the Methodists. The funeral will take place from Mr. Bennett's at 10:30 a.m. today. Rev. Wiley officiating. Burial at Rodefer's. Seven children survive, viz: Joseph Beach, Mrs. Mary Bennett, and C. A. Beach, of this city; Mrs. Sarah Bennett, of Bloomington; Clarkson H. and John R. Beach, Thorntown, and Mrs. Emma Bennett of Arkansas.

Grandpa Beach Dead
Caleb S. Beach died at the home of his son-in-law, Nicholas Bennett, at 2:45 o'clock Tuesday afternoon of paralysis. He was about 84 years of age and until a few years ago was a resident of Washington township, where he settled in 1852 and acquired a good farm and raised a family of seven children – Joseph, Mary, Sarah, Emma, Clarkson, John and Ananias. An eighth child, Addie, is dead. Mr. Beach was a member of the United Brethren church, and in politics a republican. The funeral will occur at the home this morning at 10:30 o'clock to be followed by burial at Rodefer's cemetery. Friends may view the remains from 8:00 to 10:30.

● Caleb S. Beach was born in Butler County, Ohio, March 5, 1814. Was married to Mariah Rosabom 7th of November, 1839, born March 5, 1820. Came to Boone County in 1853, settling in Washington Township, near Mechanicsburg. Mr. and Mrs. Beach belong to the United Brethren Church. Their children's names are as follows: Joseph H., born January 30, 1884, married to Rachel Bennett. Mary, married Nicholas Bennett, born, May 1, 1842. Phebe, born December 22, 1843, died July 20, 1849, buried in Ohio. Catharine, born April 7, 1845, died July 20, 1849, buried also in Ohio. Martha born November 28th, 1846, died August 4,1849. Sarah, born July 29, 1848, was married to John Bennett; resides in Sugar Creek. Clarkson, born January 10, 1851, married to Annie Rodgers; live in Kirkland, Indiana. Emeline, born November 22, 1852, married to Thomas Bennett. Resides in Kansas. Joseph H. was in the army, Fifty-fourth Regiment. All the deceased members are buried in Ohio.
