Zachariah was a Pvt. in the 1st Colorado Calvary from 1861 to 1865. In 1875 he moved to Indian Territory. He was a blacksmith while living in Miller Co., Mo. in the 1860's. In the 1900 Texas census he was listed as laborer.He was listed in the Dallas, Seagoville, Texas 1890 Veteran's census.There is a possibility that his parents were William Henry Bourne and Mary Boutwell (Drummond) Bourne.
