Helen L. Bowes, 76, of 336 E. Church St., Lock Haven, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 1994, in the Lock Haven Extended Care Unit. Born Aug. 7, 1917, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of Paul H. and Ada Swisher Welch. She was a 1933 graduate of Lock Haven High School. Mrs. Bowes was a member of the First Church of Christ, Lock Haven. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Harry Bowes in June 1986. Surviving are one son, David B. Bowes of Hackettstown, NJ; two daughters, Barbara Hayes and Linda Palloto, both of Lock Haven; four brothers, Edwin Welch of Emporium, PA, William Welch of Fairpoint, PA; Dorance Welch and Philip Welch, both of Lock Haven; two sisters, Isabel Pons of Lock Haven and Millicent Foster of Mission Hills, Calif.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
