He was born Nov. 5, 1910, in Brothertown, Wis., to John and Emma (Powell) Sohrweide and was graduated from Oconto High School and Oshkosh State Teachers College. He married Ruth Goff on Thanksgiving Day in 1935 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 184 at Alma. He retired after serving as superintendent of Buffalo County schools for 25 years.
Survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. James (Diane) Rogneby, Bloomington, Minn., and Mrs. Robert (Sandi) Seyffer, Marshall, Wis.; seven grandchildren; two brothers, John, Dallas, Tex., and Harold, Fairfield, Calif. His wife died May 21, 1965. Two brothers and one granddaughter also have died.
Private funeral services will be Friday at Voigt Funeral Home, Cochrane, the Rev. Richard Townsend Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Buffalo City Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday and until time of services Friday. There will be a Masonic service Thursday evening.
