Albert "Abe" David Allen of Legion Park, passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving family at his winter home in Inverness, Fla., on March 6, 2009. Albert was born Sept. 23, 1912, in Livermore Falls to George and Ethel Allen.

He grew up on his family's farm on High Street and graduated from Livermore Falls High School in 1931. During World War II, he worked as a shipbuilder at Bath Iron Works.

On June 15, 1941, in Lincolnville, he married the love of his life, Annie Munroe, with whom he shared life's load for 64 years, including the introduction to the world and raising of their baby boomers Glen, Paul and David. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brothers Paul and Robert.

There will be a private service in the spring at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Livermore Falls. (Kennebec Journal 3/21/2009)
