The fourth of seven children born to James R & Mary Jane (Mavity) Warfield of Manilla, Rush Co IN, Uriah married:
1) Lydia B Heaton on 9 Nov 1878 in Rush Co IN, the daughter of James L & Clarinda (Hilligoss) Heaton of Rush Co IN; she died 20 Dec 1879, just shy of one month after the birth of their only child.
2) Mary "Addie" Adeline Wilkes on 25 Oct 1891 in Rush Co IN, the daughter of William R & Sarah Ellen (Crim) Wilkes of Rush Co IN.
Child with Lydia:
1) James Emery Warfield (1879-1963); m. Nettie Jane Heflin (1883-1966).
Children with Addie:
1) Verle Thomas Warfield (1895-1988); m1. Flora Dorset Clevenger (1902-1983); m2. Mildred White.
2) Charlotta "Lottie" Eva Warfield (1898-1977); m. Charles Chester Clevenger (1894-1960).
3) Freda May Warfield (1901-1923); m. Charles Albert Phenis (1901-1979).
4) Emerson William Warfield (1904-1942); m. Mildred Lavern Mazingo (1921-1939).
On the May 1880 Census record, 22 yr old Uriah is widowed. He and baby son James Emory, live with Uriah's parents and siblings. James Emory Warfield was aged 6 mos during this Census, born in Nov 1879. Lydia had also passed away in Nov 1879, either during childbirth or soon after, at age 16y 2m 2d. Uriah must have been heart-broken, as it was 11 more years before he re-married, to my Gr-Grandma Mary Adeline "Addie" Wilkes.

Uriah James Warfield, age 68 years, died Monday night at the county infirmary, following an illness of paralysis. Funeral services will be held Thursday, the hour not being definite, at the home of his sister, Mrs. John Elder, 825 West Tenth street, and burial will be made in the cemetery at Manilla.
The deceased is survived by a son, Emory Warfield of Connersville, and two sons and a daughter by a second marriage, who are Virl [sic] Warfield of Indianapolis; Emerson Warfield of this city and Mrs. Lottie Clevenger, also of Indianapolis. Besides the sister here, he also is survived by another sister, Mrs. John Kuntz of Manilla, and two brothers, Adam Warfield of Homer and George Warfield of Kansas."
