Floyd F. (Tootsie) Barnes, 73, of Bokeelia, died June 15, 2000. A native of Laurel, Mississippi, he had been a life long resident of Bokeelia. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the Lee County Conservation Assoc. and the Organized Fishermen in Florida for 33 years. Mr Barnes was a commercial fisherman and held the first commercial license issued by the State Of Florida. He is survived by his wife, Louise Barnes of Bokeelia; one sister, Margie Zammerilla (FMHS 1940) of North Fort Myers; two step-sons, R. Logan Hipple of Ochlacknee, Georgia, and Dan L. Hipple of Moore Haven; two nephews, Nick Zammerilla of Cape Coral and David Zammerilla of North Fort Myers; and a niece, Donna Neff of North Fort Myers. Memorial services will be conducted Monday morning from the First Baptist Church of Pine Island, 5363 Ave. D, Pine Island Center, at 10:00 a.m., with Chaplain Tom Rickards officiating. Cremation will follow.Arrangements are by the Anderson Funeral Home, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd.
