Graduated from Franklin High School in Portland, OR. Ran on the track team. Attended Oregon State College and served in the Navy in World War 1 on a Submarine Chaser between 1917 and 1919. He was a freight agent for Northern Pacific Railway. A meeting was scheduled at his office the night of June 7, 1934. He and two co-workers were going across the Burnside Bridge and hit a safty island headon. Harold was killed instantly.

Oregon Death Certificate: Harold Milton Duncan, died at 9:30 pm on June 7, 1934, in an automobile accident at the west end of the Burnside Bridge in Portland, Oregon, when the auto struck a safety island and fractured his skull and chest. His residence was 3332 NE 44th Ave, Portland, and he was a freight agent for the Northern Pacific Railroad.
