Catalina Ingalsbe
-------------------------
Former Merced woman Called By Death
Mrs. Catalina W. Ingalsbe, for many years a well-known resident of Merced county, passed away at her home in Oakland last Saturday afternoon following a comparatively brief illness.
Mrs. Ingalsbe was a native of Missouri and was the daughter of the late James Ruddle, who was among the earliest settlers of the Merced river section of this county. when she was but a small child she accompanied her parents to California and had been a resident of Merced county practically ever since. She was the widow of the late Daniel Ingalsbe, who was also one of the pioneer settlers of the Merced river section and who died in the 90's. A short time previous to Mr. Ingalsbe's death the family moved to reside here until about two years ago, when she moved to Oakland. she was a woman of kind and charitable disposition and had many friends who regret her passing.
She leaves four daughters and a son - Mrs. Coral Lewis of Oakland, Mrs India Fruit, Mrs May Silman and Mrs Flossie Law of Merced, and Leigh Ingalsbe of Merced.
Funeral services were held in Oakland Monday afternoon, Rev. H.T. Babcok, pastor of the Central Presbyterian church of this city, officiating. The remains were cremated and the ashes were deposited in the Ingalsbe family plot in the cemetery at Stockton.

In thanks to Wm Rodgers who found the death notice.
