Ralph Elwood Wright was born in Commerce, Hunt County, Texas 13 July 1923 to Claud O. Wright & Bertha V. (Foster) Wright. R.E.'s paternal grandparents were Thomas & Mary J. (Bond)Wright. His maternal grandparents were Russel & Ella (Cunningham) Foster. Ralph E.'s family later moved to a farm in Delta County, Texas. His two sisters were Doris and Betty Ann Wright. R. E. attended school at Craig-Tranquil & Enloe. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1944 & took his basic training at Camp Fannin near Tyler, Texas and was sent to ETO in Oct. He died 18 January 1945 as a Pow in Landau, Germany.
R.E. married in Delta County, Texas 1 Nov. 1942, Doris Lee Toon & their daughter, Linda Ellen, was born 8 Oct. 1944.
