Roberta M. Humbel
(February 26, 1928 - February 9, 2010)

Aunt Roberta was awesome....she could do anything. My first memory of her was standing in Grammas' yard, and her zipping up in her little convertible. Her long hair was flowing in the breeze, and she had on matching sunglasses to her car's color. That was Auntie R B.....she had to match..shoes, purse, scarf....she told me a story of how when she was working at the Chippewa Lake park...they sold colored cigarettes....she didn't smoke...but her and her friend, Jean, bought a pack and would dress in colors to match the cigarettes.....so they could hold matching one to their clothes.
You could give her any object...and she would make something beautiful out of it. She could whip up an arrangement or put on a party in a blink of an eye. She had some of the most wonderful parties....her Halloween get together's were talked about for months.

My favorite story of her is when she wanted so bad to learn to play piano. Her teacher was adamant that each student had a piano at home....well Auntie R B didn't...so she made a cardboard "keyboard" and would practice on that...the teacher didn't have a clue until a surprise visit to her home.....but since she had learnt so well the teacher made an exception. The neighbor's heard about it and the Mr...came down and told grandpa...he would like to have grandpa's "prized" rooster...he would trade his wife's upright piano for that rooster. So grandpa made the trade...on a side note….He also traded a sow for my Moms (Roberta's baby sister Patt) cheerleading outfit. I bet grandpa was glad he only had two girls!

She was so loved and respected....she blessed me with three wonderful cousins who I love like my own brothers and sisters. She couldn't be beat!!!! I know Heaven is a better place with her there and she is with her Savior that she loved and served her whole life.
