Glen Isaac , of 102 Longview Village Circle, Wytheville, Va., formerly of Ivanhoe, went home to be with our Lord on Monday, February 1, 2010, after spending 90 blessed years here on earth. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Pickett Ingo in 2001. He leaves behind two sons and a daughter-in-law, the Rev. Michael S. (Mike), and Glenda Ingo, of Max Meadows, and Glenn B. Ingo of Chico, California; three grandchildren, Josh Ingo and wife, Autumn, of Barren Springs, Jeremy Ingo, of Fredericksburg, Va., and Hannah Ingo, of Max Meadows; and one greatgrandson, Matthew Isaac Ingo, of Fredericksburg. He retired from the New Jersey Zinc Company in 1980 and worked mainly at the Ivanhoe Mine. He was a United States Army Veteran and fought in World War II on the Island of Iwo Jima and received the Purple Heart for being wounded in battle there. He was a member of Forest United Methodist Church of Ivanhoe where he served in his earlier years as a Lay Minister and later as Senior Adult Sunday School teacher. After moving to Rakestown he attended Fairview United Methodist Church before moving to Wytheville. He was a lifetime member of the Ivanhoe Fire Department and also worked with the Lead Mines Rescue Squad. Visitation and service will be Thursday evening, February 4, 2010, from 5 until service time at 7 p.m., at Reese Funeral Home in Austinville, Va. Burial and graveside service will be Friday at 11 a.m., at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ivanhoe with full military honors conducted by Pulaski VFW Post # 1184. The family will receive friends at Mike's residence at 441 Ivanhoe Rd., Max Meadows, anytime. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make memorial contributions to Forest United Methodist Church, the Ivanhoe Fire Department, or the Lead Mines Rescue Squad. Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
