Jessie Rose Abel of Cochranville

Jessie Rose Abel, 86, a longtime resident of Cochranville, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2005, at the Brandywine Hospital and Trauma Center in Coatesville.
She was the wife of the late Palmer Franklin Abel.
Born in Sparta, N.C., she was the daughter of the late William and Laura McMillan Gamble.
She was employed as a nurse's aid at Pocopson Home, retiring in 1982.
Jessie loved blue grass music and attended many blue grass festivals. She also enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by two sons, Edward E. Abel and his wife, Barbara W., of Coatesville, and John L. Abel and his wife, Donna S., of West Grove; three daughters, Margaret A. Mowrer, widow of Kenneth of West Grove, Dorothy J. Roop and her husband, Dewey, of Cochranville, and Joyce A. Bryan of Frazer; one brother, Paul E. Gamble of West Grove; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded by three brothers; two sisters; and one grandson, Samuel Bryan.
Family and friends are invited to attend Jessie's life celebration from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 10, and also from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, at the Cleveland & Gofus Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration Home," Third Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Avondale, 610-268-2166.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Longwood Cemetery in East Marlborough Township.
