Patrick George O'Riley Knox was the son of Robert V. Knox (1795-1872) and Christena Clark (1808-1892). Patrick married (1) Martha Jane Steele Garrett (1838-1861) December 15, 1856. He was a 27-year-old resident at Rockport, Indiana, when he enlisted as a private on August 7, 1862, and mustered into Company K, 4th Indiana Cavalry. Private Knox was was discharged (for disability?) on March 12, 1863. Soon thereafter he married (2) Lavina Casteel (1864-1868?). Patrick married (3) Delia Jocelyn (1850-1918) at Spencer County, Indiana, about 1870.
