Mr. Amos W. (A.W.) Jackson, age 82, of Fairburn passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009. Mr. Jackson was a Navy veteran who served in WWII. He retired from Bellsouth after 40 years of employment and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Fairburn.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances Hutchens Jackson of Fairburn; daughter, Katie Jackson of Fairburn; son, Jeff Jackson of Sharpsburg; sister, Elma Stallings of Newnan; grandchildren, Chuck Furey and his wife Jamie of Newnan and great grandchildren, Haley and James; Eric Furey and his wife Stephanie of Moreland and great grandchild, Eli.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Fairburn with remains placed in state at 2:30 p.m. Dr. Oscar Cope officiating. Interment Holly Hill Memorial Park.
