ALGER, Aug.10 - Funeral services for Francis Marion Newland, 84, widely known retired farmer who died Thursday at his home a mile south of this village, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Alger Methodist Episcopal Church. The Rev. Charles Roberts of Findlay will be in charge. Burial will be in Preston cemetery.
Newland was born in this district and had lived here all his life. He was a member of the Pentecostal church. In addition to his widow, Margaret, he leaves a daughter, Trudie Newland and a son, Ora Newland. A sister, Mrs. Matilda Lutz, of Lima; a granddaughter, Miss Betty Newland, of Toledo and five other grandchildren also survive.
