S/O Alva & Mary Ellen (Miller) Ames. Charles married 1st -- Eleanor Karolina Kumnick on 8 Nov 1906 in Toledo, Lucas Co., OH & they had one son, Herbert K. Ames. Charles was in the Mexican conflict and WWI. He was Postmaster of Bryan & Mayor of Bryan. Eleanor died in 1934 and he married 2nd -- Florence Belle Arnold on 21 Nov 1937 in Bryan, Williams Co., OH. Florence was the sister of his best friend who had died during WWI. He became the first commander of the Charles Arnold (named for his wife's deceased brother & Charles' best friend) American Legion Post in Bryan. He was a commander of the Knights Templar Masonic Organization and a Williams County Deputy Treasurer.

Wonderful granddad !!!-- he always had that twinkle in his eye :)
