ALGER - Gerald L. Newland, 60, of Rt. 1, died 11 a.m. Saturday in Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton, following an apparent heart attack.
Born July 10, 1909, in Hardin County, he was the son of William and Ina Miller Newland. His mother survives. In 1939 he was married to Martha Williams, who also survives.
Other survivors are two sons, William D. of Cincinnati and Donald of 1944 Allentown Rd., Lima; five grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Jane) Fry of McGuffey.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hanson Funeral Home, Alger, Rev. James Lewis and Rev. Willard Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight.
